ACTH (18-39), human ( Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) (18-39), human )
Catalog No. M29940 CAS No. 53917-42-3
Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) (18-39) is known as the Corticotropin-like Intermediate Lobe Peptide. It stimulates insulin secretion as well as amylase and protein secretion in a dose-dependent manner similar to those of secretin and carbamylcholine.

DescriptionAdrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) (18-39) is known as the Corticotropin-like Intermediate Lobe Peptide. It stimulates insulin secretion as well as amylase and protein secretion in a dose-dependent manner similar to those of secretin and carbamylcholine.(In Vitro):The ACTH family of polypeptides consists of ACTH(1-39) (adrenocorticotropin), ACTH (1-13)amide (α-melanotropin;α-MSH); and ACTH (18-39) (corticotropinlike intermediate lobe peptide, CLIP). These polypeptides are derived from a common precursor, proopiomelanocortin. In corticotropic cells of the pars distalis, proopiomelanocortin (POMC) undergoes a series of proteolytic cleavage reactions to yield ACTH (1-39) as a major end product. However, in the melanotropic cells of the pars intermedia, an additional set of proteolytic reactions results in the conversion of ACTH (1-39) to ACTH (1-13) amide and ACTH (18-39). In several species of vertebrates, ACTH (1-13) amide undergoes end product modification to yield mono- and diacetylated forms ofα-MSH as major end products in the pars intermedia.

Dihydroxyfumaric aci...
Dihydroxyfumaric acid is a known generator of superoxide anions and by hydroxyl free radicals. Dihydroxyfumarate exposure can cause insulin inhibitory effects. It can spontaneously convert to hydroxypyruvate or to oxaloglycolate.
-
CCP peptide
CCP peptide is a synthetic cyclic peptide incorporating the amino acid citrulline.

3-(Methylthio)propio...
3-methylthiopropionate is one of the metabolites of methionine (especially of D-methionine). Cultures of Streptomyces lincolnensis accumulated 3-methylthioacrylic acid in amounts directly related to the concentration of methionine in the medium. The first intermediate in the pathway may be the keto acid which is then oxidatively decarboxylated to 3-methylthiopropionic acid.
